One-liner
Laura is a wavetable, FM, classic analog, and fractal polysynth plugin (AU and VST3) for macOS and Windows. One-time $69, lifetime license.
Short description (60 words)
Laura is a polysynth by Lost Synapse, a one-person studio. It combines four oscillator engines (wavetable with a built-in editor, FM, classic analog, and fractal kernels including Mandelbrot, Julia, and Burning Ship) with a modulation matrix that thinks in shape, a 16-slot FX rack, and a Filter+ section with six pre-filter drive characters. AU and VST3, macOS and Windows.
Long description (170 words)
Laura is the synth its maker wanted to use, built by one person over years of evenings. It runs four oscillator engines under one signal path: wavetable with a full built-in editor (formula box, brushes, up to 256 frames), classic analog-style oscillators, two-operator FM, and a set of fractal kernels (Mandelbrot, Julia, Burning Ship, Tricorn, Multibrot, Newton) that produce timbres no other shipping synth makes.
Around the oscillators sits a modulation matrix with six envelopes, four LFOs with editable shapes, and a macro layer that combines sources before they reach a destination. Filter+ adds six pre-filter drive characters (Tube, Tape, Diode, Fold, plus the Lost Synapse character pack) and a series highpass. The 16-slot FX rack covers chorus, delay, distortion, phaser, flanger, reverb (algorithmic and convolution with user IRs), EQ, and a granular cloud. A DICE button rolls a curated patch when inspiration is late.
