Highlights
- Laura FX. Fifteen devices in one drag-to-reorder rack, on any track: the starling-swarm delay, the spectral fluid, freeze, the frequency shifter, granular, the character compressor, and the classics. Four macros you wire by dragging, and a latency-matched bypass for honest A/B.
- Included with Laura, permanently. Install it on a machine where Laura is activated and it unlocks itself. No new license, nothing to type. This update's installer carries it by default; untick it during install if you don't want it.
- New to the family? Laura FX on its own is $20 at launch.
- Your license email now carries a download link that always points at the latest build, so a fresh machine setup is one click.
- Knob values render cleaner: the readout under every knob no longer clips tall characters, and the range labels at the arc tips spell out their units.
Details
Laura FX has been the plan for a while: the effects section is half of why Laura sounds the way it does, and it deserved to work on more than one synth. So it is now its own plugin, AU, VST3, CLAP, and a standalone that processes live input, on macOS and Windows. Same fifteen devices, same drag-to-reorder twelve-slot chain, same macro system: grab a badge, drop it on any knob in any device, and one knob moves a whole scene. The bypass is latency-matched, so A/B comparisons line up sample for sample instead of lying to you by a lookahead's worth of time.
If you own Laura, there is nothing to buy and nothing to activate. Both products share one effects codebase and release together, so every device improvement lands in the synth and the rack on the same day. Your Laura license unlocks Laura FX automatically, and this update's installer places it next to the synth by default. If you'd rather keep your plugin list lean, untick the Laura FX components during install and nothing changes.
For everyone else, Laura FX is twenty dollars at launch, one time, lifetime updates, offline activation, no telemetry, same as everything I ship. And a small quality note for Laura itself in this build: the value readouts under the knobs got a typography pass, so tall characters no longer clip and the little range labels at the arc tips spell out their units properly. Your patches, packs, and license carry over exactly as before.
